Fillers:
dermal fillers for facial volume restoration

Facts on Fillers

As we age, we lose bone mass and our fat pads start to decrease in size (which might sound good, but we swear it’s not). With the overall loss in volume under our skin, we start… well, looking older. Enter: filler.

The use of injectable fillers has become THE most requested minimally-invasive treatment option to re-volumize an aging face.

Approved by the FDA in 2003, modern fillers use hyaluronic acid, (which our body naturally has already). This polysaccharide is capable of holding over 1000x its weight in water, helping our cells stay super hydrated. This equals a plump, youthful appearance. Fun!

There are different thicknesses of filler: some are thin to add gentle hydration (in our lips or under eyes, for example), and some are thick to mimic bone structure (like we’d need for our cheeks or jaw lines). There’s something perfect for every need.

Depending on where it is placed and what product is used, filler can last up to 6 months, 1 year, and even up to 2 years (but FYI: this can also depend on an individual’s body and metabolism).

If you’re new to filler (or maybe getting filler in a new area), a consultation with our providers is an excellent idea! Consults are always free at Tinytox Collab, and often times we are able to address what you’re there to talk about at that time.

During consults, you and your provider will discuss your goals and come up with a plan that everyone feels good with. It’s important to us that clients feel comfortable with our providers, understand realistic potential outcomes, and get to know pricing… and a consult will address everything.

What can we fill?

  • Lips

The OG when it comes to fillers.

Enhance what you’ve already got, restore a previous lip size after aging, or correct asymmetry. Get a confidence boost. Boom.

  • Cheeks

As we age and our face starts to fall due to bone and volume loss, cheek filler can change everything.

Don’t worry, it won’t make you look like Cher (although hey, Cher is gorgeous, let’s be real).

  • Under Eyes

Tired of always looking tired? Same.

Under eye filler adds soft, gentle volume to make you look more refreshed.
8 hours of sleep in a syringe.

  • Chin and Jaw Line

Adding filler to the chin and jaw line will slim, define, and help your entire face.

“If you don’t treat the chin, it’s a sin.” - Michelle, a billion times, forever.

  • Nose

Got a bump but aren’t ready or willing to pay 15k for a full on rhinoplasty?

Get a liquid nose job instead.

  • Smile & Marionette Lines

You’re a happy person, you swear! And because you smile so much, you’ve created smile lines and/or marionette lines over the years.

A little bit of filler in these areas around the mouth will add youthful volume and lift.

  • Glabeller, "11s", & Deep Forehead Wrinkles

Maybe you’ve spent years questioning the world around you (which, fair) which has created “permanent”, static wrinkles.

Now the world thinks you’re angry ALL the time. And maybe you are… but we don’t want the world to know it.

  • Temples

Volume loss in our temples is rarely thought about but can make a big impact as we age.

Hollowed-out temples create a peanut shape, and no one wants to look like Mr. Peanut Head.

Filler Appointments at Tinytox Collab

  • Your provider will go over your medical history, goals, expected cost, and provide education. They will determine which filler product to use based on your info and can discuss future treatment plans. Please let your provider know if you have a history of passing out when it comes to needle stuff. Yes, seriously.

We offer topical numbing cream, distraction tools, and ice packs for during and after injecting. Candy is always on deck in Michelle’s office, too – sometimes you just need a little sugar kick after!

Our goal at Tinytox Collab is to enhance the beauty you already have, so we focus on natural-looking results. Your skin should never look “plastic”… we want you to look refreshed and rejuvenated. The best version of yourself, if you will.

  • * PLEASE arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment to check in. If you’re new to our office we will have you fill out consent and health forms prior to your service. If you’ve been with us a while, we may ask you to update forms.

    * Wear minimal to no makeup if possible.

    * Eat and drink prior to your appointment.

    * Sustain from smoking at least a couple hours prior to injection (lip filler: see below)

    * Do not consume alcohol or take ibuprofen 2 days prior to appointment, as this increases bruising.

    * Let us know about important upcoming events in your life so we can decide if it’s the right time to inject.

    * If you’re someone who workouts regularly, please do so before your appointment and plan ahead, as you can not workout for 2 days after injections.

    * Please wait 2 weeks after you’ve had any laser treatment to the face before getting injections. Allow yourself to fully heal!

    Specifically for Lip Filler Appointments:

    * If you have a history of cold sores, please call you PCP and have them prescribe an antiviral a week prior to your appointment.

    * If you have had recent dental work prior to lip filler, please let your injector know. If you anticipate having dental work after lip filler, please reschedule for a few weeks after injection.

    * Please know that smoking after lip filler is ill advised.

You must notify us prior to your appointment if any of the following apply to you:

    * You are on blood thinners or muscle relaxers.

    * You have had any type of eye surgery or facial surgery in the recent past (you must be cleared by your doctor prior to being injected).
    * You have a history of passing out around needles or getting injections. Yes seriously.

  • * For the first couple of nights, sleep on your back. Noooo face sleeping.

    * Do not rub, massage, or manipulate the area.

    * Expect bruising and or swelling. Apply cold compress gently on the area. While Ibuprofen may normally alleviate mild soreness, it can also create more bruising since it’s a blood thinner… so take that for what you will.

    * Drink lots of water.

    * Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, saunas, and hot tubs for at least 24 hours.

    * Avoid alcohol for 48 hours, as it will increase bruising and delay healing.

    * Do not apply makeup to area treated for at least 24 hours.

    * No exercise for 24-48 hours.

    * Do not wear face masks, goggles, or anything around the face that would put pressure or constrict treated area.

    * Hold off on getting any laser treatments, microneedling, facials, or chemical peels for 3-4 weeks after.

    * Tenderness and nodules can occur for a couple weeks. This is normal and will subside.

    * Call the office immediately if you experience: white discoloration, rippling, unusual bruising, severe pain accompanied by warmth, swelling, fever, or chills.
